When thin walls, tight tolerances and high strength are required, polyimide is the material of choice. Polyimide is in the select group of super polymers and is now available in micro and miniature tubing sizes. Our tubing has a thermal rating of -452F (-269C) To 700F (371C) for continuous use application with a dielectric constant of 3.4. This material is considered a benchmark for polymers in electrical insulation applications. This tubing exhibits exceptional dimensional stability and has very high burst pressure ratings. Excellent column strength and high stiffness has proven to provide good push and torque properties making polyimide tubing an excellent choice for catheters that are guided through the body's vascular system. Other uses include high strength, temperature and chemical resistant push rod tubes, and miniature structural matrices. This tubing can be steam, gamma or EtO sterilized and has excellent chemical resistance. Polyimide tubing can be bonded with cyanoacrylates, UV and room temperature cure epoxies.

Tygon fuel and lubrication tubing is formulated to resist hydrocarbons and has a lower rate of permeation than competitive tubing. It resists the swelling and hardening caused by hydrocarbon based fluids which can lead to cracking and leakage. Its minimum extractability safeguards the liquid or vapor being transferred against contamination. Typical applications include small engine fuel lines, general automotive, lawn and garden equipment, coolant transfer, heating fuels, cutting compounds, and lubrication lines. Durometer hardness is 57 Shore A. Temperature Range is -35F to 165F. Color is transparent yellow for easy identification.

Polycarbonate is a transparent high molecular weight, linear, low-crystalline plastic. It is generally sought out for its very high impact resistance which approaches 30 times that of safety glass. Light transmittance is 90 percent. In addition to being a very hard plastic, it has a very high modulus of elasticity making it resistant to creep; it has excellent electrical resistivity, and an operating temperature range of -275 F to 250 F. It is generally unaffected by greases, oils and acids. Hardness is 112-125 Rockwell R (73-78 M Scale). Heat deflection temperature is 275-285 Degrees F at 264 PSI. Easily fabricated by machining, drilling, and sawing with a low likelihood of cracking or chipping. Solvent resistance is poor but polycarbonate is easily bonded. Prolonged exposure to solvents with the material under stress will result in crazing and cracking.

EXTREN - Series 525 profiles have a synthetic resin rich veil that contains a UV inhibitor and corrosion resistant surface. Flammability is rated as self-extinguishing. These profiles are non-magnetic and exhibit good electrical and thermal insulation properties that are transparent to radio waves and EMI/RFI transmissions.EXTREN is 30 Percent lighter and has 86 Percent of the yield strength of aluminum. It is pound for pound stronger than aluminum in the lengthwise direction of the profile. Temperatures above 150 F (65 C) are not recommended. These profiles can be easily fabricated with carpentry or metal working tools. Fasten with screws, bolts, and rivets, or join with adhesives.
